Samsung Partners With Nifty Gateway to Develop NFT Platform Specially Optimised for Smart TVs

Samsung Partners With Nifty Gateway

Samsung plans to ride the wave of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by introducing screen-based explorers and NFT marketplace aggregators to future smart TVs. Samsung has worked with Nifty Gateway, NFT Art’s digital art online auction platform, to develop a TV-optimized NFT viewing, buying and trading experience. This feature also leverages Nifty Gateway’s storage wallet system. In this system, the platform does not need to keep your collection in an external wallet and protects it. Users can also purchase NFTs with credit / debit cards or cryptocurrencies.
While many startups are building bespoke displays for NFTs, Samsung is taking a different approach: adding NFT functionality to its smart TV sets, potentially opening up NFT collecting to a much wider audience.

And today, the tech firm announced the NFT industry partner that is bringing its smart TV interface to life. It’s Nifty Gateway, the Ethereum-centric marketplace that brothers Griffin and Duncan Cock Foster founded in 2018, and was acquired by cryptocurrency exchange Gemini in 2019.
According to a press release issued by Nifty Gateway, “By leveraging Samsung and Nifty Gateway technology, customers can seamlessly browse, view and interact with NFTs while relaxing on the couch. In addition, customers have more than 6,000 artworks. You can access emerging and top artists such as Beeple, Daniel Arsham, Pak. “

The Nifty Gateway NFT platform will be integrated into Samsung’s new 2022 premium TV line, which includes QLED and Neo QLED sets, and Samsung’s The Frame and MicroLED TV set owners will be able to download and access the Nifty Gateway app. That said, Samsung has not explicitly specified the NFT platforms and marketplaces it will include in the future for aggregation.
